On Friday 4 November, 130 students and staff took part in the charity 5k run at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Portland, inspired by former student, Lulu Blundell, raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The recruitment event will be held at Jurys Inn, located on Fry St, Middlesbrough and will run across two days. Anyone wanting more information can drop in at the event any time between 8am – 8pm on Tuesday 15 November or 8am and 4pm on Wednesday 16 November.

On Friday 14 October, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Shafton presented a cheque to Yorkshire Air Ambulance representative, Laura Lawton. The money was raised at the ‘Bike Fest’ event back in July.

The event which took place at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Foxhills on 14 October, gave GCSE Health and Social Care students an insight into the many career opportunities available within the National Health Service (NHS).

No less than 18 schools within the Trust currently hold the prestigious Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status from Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM)

On 14 October 2022, Emma Hudson, D&T Lead at Outwood Primary Academy Newstead Green was awarded Create Education Excellence Award for Outstanding Primary Subject Leadership for her outstanding contribution at the Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards.

A student from a Wakefield-based secondary school is celebrating after securing medals at both the English and Welsh National Championships this summer.

The initiative, led by the Mental Health Foundation and recognised by the World Health Organisation, is held every year on 10 October.

The Mayor of Wakefield, Councillor David Jones, paid a visit to Outwood Primary Academy Kirkhamgate on Monday 3 October as part of the school’s community engagement programme.
