Outwood Junior Academy Brumby children spread festive cheer
Children from Outwood Junior Academy Brumby have been spreading festive cheer within their local community. 18 children from years 3 through 6 at the school, visited Myos House in Warwick Road, to spend time with residents in the lead up to Christmas. Myos House, part of Ongo Homes, is specifically designed for those with a dementia diagnosis to be able to live independently.
During the visit, residents were treated to Christmas songs performed by the school choir, along with home-baked goods. After, the children who had all brought a selection of their favourite books with them, spent time reading with residents and presented them with handmade Christmas cards.
Anita, who works at Myos House, said:
“The tenants loved having the children from Outwood Junior Academy Brumby to visit. They thoroughly enjoyed listening to the children singing Christmas carols and hearing them read stories to them. They really appreciated the lovely gesture of the home-made Christmas cards which have taken pride of place in their properties.
“Thank you once again to all the staff and children and we look forward to next year.â€
