ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Danum Hosts Languages Event For Students
A secondary academy in Doncaster is hosting a special event to showcase the power of languages for its students.
Year 8 students at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Danum, based on Armthorpe Road, will be able to discover the career development potential of languages in a workshop style event. As part of the event, the students will hear about, and get involved in interactive activities, about why languages are important, and how different careers are linked to them.
As part of the interactive element of the event, the students will also be tasting Spanish food and be charged with marketing a sweet product in either French or Spanish.
Katie Pennington, Associate Director of Modern Foreign Languages at the Outwood Family, said:
“We believe in putting students first and doing all we can to support them to reach their potential, and events like this are an example of this approach. We want to do things a little bit differently to give students a positive and fun experience.â€
The academy will be working with external facilitators Business Language Champions on the event, and the session will also outline what the different language GCSE pathways look like, as well as sharing hints and tips on how students can gain a good pass.
Katie added:
“We are very excited for this event and cannot wait to work with the students to help them explore the wonder and importance of modern foreign languages.â€
