Young Children ‘Spread The Happiness’ On Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Young children from a multi-academy trust with primary academies across the North of England have enjoyed a Teddy Bears’ picnic with a well-known, award winning, happiness ambassador.
Nursery and reception children from ϳԹ primaries, and their parents, took part in Teddy Bears’ picnic in their academies, with a very special guest entertaining them.
The children were joined by Guinness World Record Holder, Shonette Bason-Wood. As well as helping to ‘spread the happiness’ as part of her ongoing campaign, Shonette also led the children through a fun Dough Disco.
Shonette invented her now internationally known and Guinness World Record holding Dough Disco to help children with their fine motor skills.
Lee Wilson, Chief Executive Primary at ϳԹ, said: “Our Teddy Bears’ picnic is key date in the diary for us, as it’s a great chance for us to bring all our nursery and reception children together, as well as their parents.
“We were thrilled that Shonette was able to join us this year, and lead the group through her fantastic Dough Disco. You could see all the children getting involved, as well as many of the parents!
“As we come to the end of the academic year, it’s great to have moments like this and see so many smiling faces. We want to build strong links with parents, and we want children to enjoy education and events like this help us to achieve these aims.”
As part of the day the children enjoyed the story of ‘Bumble Bear’ which was read to them by Shonette. They engaged in a number of creative activities before having a picnic lunch with their friends. All of the children joined a Dough Disco session before rounding off the day with a competition launched by Shonette.
